Rookie safety AJ Haulcy’s status for the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 1 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens remains up in the air as of Monday.
According to The Athletic’s James Boyd, head coach Shane Steichen said that the team will see how the week goes for Haulcy before determining his status for the season opener.
Haulcy has been sidelined the last two weeks with an ankle injury.

Haulcy, a third-round pick by the Colts, spent the offseason and training camp competing with Hunter Wohler for the strong safety role alongside of Cam Bynum. Haulcy seemed to be the front-runner for those snaps until the ankle injury sidelined him.
Coming out of LSU, Haulcy brings added versatility and impressive ball skills to the Colts’ secondary.
On Wednesday, we will get the Colts’ first injury report of the week, getting a better idea of where Haulcy is at.
If he can’t go in Week 1, the Colts will likely turn to Wohler.
