Cam Skattebo says he's learned his lesson about doing backflips: 'I do some dumb things'

Cam Skattebo was one of the darlings of last year’s NFL rookie class, but injury concerns have followed the second-year New York Giants running back.
Skattebo suffered a season-ending dislocated ankle eight games into his debut campaign, and he gave his fans quite a scare this offseason. In a video from Fanatics Fest that quickly went viral earlier this month, Skattebo attempted a backflip but couldn’t land it.
He assured fans that he was not injured at all from the stunt, and the situation even prompted a joke from new Giants coach John Harbaugh. Still, at New York’s training camp on Friday, Skattebo showed some self-awareness, saying he’s learned his lesson from the ordeal.
“Obviously, I do some dumb things here and there,” Skattebo said. “But I learn from it. My coach talked to me, told me how he felt, and I learned from it. Will I go do that backflip? Probably not. We live and we learn, and we move on.”

What did John Harbaugh say about Cam Skattebo’s backflip?
Skattebo said Friday that he discussed the situation with Harbaugh, who had previously commented about it publicly. At the time, Harbaugh seemed to take it in stride. He joked that he was less concerned about Skattebo attempting the backflip than him failing to land it.
“Dude, at least stick it. You know what I mean?” Harbaugh said.
