ESPN predicts Georgia football's most likely defeat

The Georgia Bulldogs have the SEC’s easiest schedule in 2026, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI). Georgia could be favorites in every game this season as the Bulldogs look to win a third straight SEC championship.
Georgia’s schedule is not easy compared to the rest of the nation. The Bulldogs still have the 20th most difficult schedule in the country, per FPI. Georgia has to play 10 Power Four opponents including nine SEC games.
ESPN’s matchup predictor highlights the Georgia at Alabama Crimson Tide game as Georgia’s most likely defeat of the season. Matchup predictor gives Georgia a 59.1% chance of beating Alabama in an SEC championship rematch. The Crimson Tide have a 41.9% chance of defeating Georgia.
Alabama has had Georgia’s number during recent history, but coach Kirby Smart and Georgia erased some of that pain with a 28-7 victory over Alabama in the 2025 SEC championship. The 2026 Georgia-Alabama game will feature some familiar faces including Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton, who is 1-1 in his career as a starter against Alabama, and Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams, who is 2-1 in his career against Georgia.
Matchup predictor gives only Alabama and Ole Miss (31.0%) a greater than 25% chance of defeating Georgia. The Bulldogs have a manageable path to return to the SEC championship.
