Ronaldinho, Soccer Club Ravenna FC, Cipriani Develop Charitable Limited-edition Jerseys by Artist Slawn

ALL CHAMPS: As the FIFA World Cup gears up for the much-anticipated final — the first featuring two Spanish-speaking countries (Argentina and Spain) since 1930 — Italy’s Ravenna FC soccer club has dropped a limited-edition capsule collection with a charitable bent, unveiled on Wednesday in New York.

The soccer club alongside its star player — and ambassador — Ronaldinho, conscripted last month, have linked up with luxury food, hospitality and leisure brand Cipriani and Nigerian designer and artist Slawn on 10 iterations of custom, arty jerseys to be auctioned off by MatchWornShirt, a sporting goods auction house, with parts of the proceeds donated to Street Soccer USA. The latter is a nonprofit organization promoting the development of a network of grassroots soccer programs Stateside.

Developed under the creative direction of the Italian streetwear and sportswear maven Giorgio Mallone, the 10 jerseys — based off the design introduced a month ago when Ronaldinho joined the club — were customized by Slawn with original artworks and graffiti. All tops come signed by the artist and the soccer player.

“Soccer is one of the most universal forms of contemporary culture. It’s a language that belongs to everyone and can live anywhere — in a stadium just as in a gallery, on the street just as in a museum. Transforming a jersey into an artwork means giving it a new space, without changing its soul,” Slawn said.

As part of the project, Nike has contributed two versions of the R10 sneakers customized by Slawn.

The project was unveiled on Wednesday at Casa Cipriani in New York alongside the FIFA World Cup trophy, displayed at the tony members’ club throughout the week leading to Sunday’s finals.

The capsule collection builds on the existing link between the Ravenna FC soccer club and the Cipriani family, after fourth-generation member Ignazio Cipriani acquired the team in June 2024 alongside the Black Duck investment fund helmed by Niccolò Maisto and Michele Attisani. Cipriani has been named the soccer club’s president.

Under the moniker Ravenna by Cipriani, the club is launching lifestyle activations and initiatives.

Established in 1913, Ravenna FC is based in the town of the same name located in the Emilia-Romagna region. The team is currently in third place in the Series C league and plays home matches at the Bruno Benelli stadium. Its defining colors are red and yellow.
