Draymond Green on possibly playing with LeBron James

The speculation continues about which team LeBron James will sign with in free agency this summer. While the temperature has cooled as far as the Golden State Warriors being a favorite to sign him, they are likely still in the hunt, especially because of his friendships with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

James and Green were apparently spotted playing golf together in Puerto Rico, per ESPN Cleveland. Indeed, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania said during an appearance on the “Stephen A. Smith Show” several days ago that the two men were “spending some time here together this week” at an undisclosed location.

It looks like the two were together and that Green did bring up the possibility of the two teaming up on the Warriors this coming season. On his podcast, the forward talked about making a pitch to James.

“I’d be remissed if I don’t take the opportunity to throw my pitch in there. I’d be crazy if we’re together for x amount of days and at no point am I like ‘Yo, we need to chop it up, what the hell going on? What we doing?’ So there’s that. Of course I did that and of course the pitch was crazy. I think I’m pretty decent at it. Doesn’t change anything. Doesn’t make anything happen. … With the things I shared in it, I believe it’s definitely going to make the brain work a little bit. I don’t think there’s a decision that’s been made, but say if there was, it’ll make you think twice about it. So there’s that.”

There have been some whispers that James isn’t that far away from making a decision, and that he could even be waiting until after the World Cup, which ends this Saturday, July 18, to announce which team he will be signing with.

Some around the NBA suspect that he has already all but decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a third stint with them.
