The Los Angeles Angels are one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball this season, and it should come as little surprise that teams are showing interest in the Angels’ players this summer.
With a few more weeks to go until the August 3 trade deadline, plenty of Angels players are in trade rumors. Reid Detmers, Jose Soriano, and Jo Adell have been the three players most often talked about in trade rumors. But Mike Trout is also back in rumors.
USA Today’s Bob Nightengale is reporting that, once again, Trout is shutting down all rumors. Trout, once again, reveals that he has no plans to accept a trade with his no-trade clause and that he wants to stay with the Angels.
Mike Trout shuts down more trade rumors with clear stance on potential Angels departure
“Just in case a thousand or so reporters want to ask once again, Mike Trout wants to stay with the Angels and has no interest in being traded,” Nightengale writes.
With Trout owning a full no-trade clause due to 10-and-5 rights, there’s no chance he’s dealt without the future Hall of Famer signing off on a trade.
As things currently stand, Trout has no plans to accept any deal. He wants to stay in Los Angeles, and as much as a fanbase like the Philadelphia Phillies would love to add Trout, he’s not going to be traded this year.

Trout has continued to take this same stance for some time, so this report from Nightengale should come as little surprise. It would be stunning if Trout reversed course and accepted a trade.
Angels fans can breathe a sigh of relief, again, as Nightengale is shutting down these trade rumors with another update that Trout has no plans to accept a trade.
Though Angels fans know well and good that Trout’s name will continue to pop back up in trade rumors, despite his intentions being made clear. But those fans shouldn’t worry, as Trout actually being traded has a zero percent chance of happening.
