An initial medical check on Manchester United target Ederson raised concerns

Manchester United must decide whether to press ahead with a deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson or pull the plug, according to the Daily Mail. Man United agreed a fee of £35 million plus £3.8m in add-ons with the Serie A club in June to bring the Brazilian to the Old Trafford club. However, an initial medical check have raised concerns over the 27-year-old. The Red Devils conducted tests on Ederson while he was on international duty with Brazil at the World Cup. Man United insisted on extra checks and are planning to hold a further round of medical with the Brazilian international.
The deal could go through if the Atalanta midfielder passes his medical, but nothing is guaranteed yet and the Red Devils could go back into the transfer market for a replacement. Man United are close to signing Andrey Santos for £50 million after the Chelsea midfielder completed a medical. However, the 22-year-old is is not being signed as an alternative to Ederson and both Brazilians could be signed if the club are satisfied with the tests results of the Atalanta star.
