Steven Fisk, Stephan Jaeger, Lucas Glover and Troy Merritt each have a share of the top spot on the ISCO Championship leaderboard after shooting 7-under during the first round of the tournament Thursday at Hurstbourne Country Club.
Fisk bogeyed the opening hole before making birdies on the next five holes, while Jaeger made seven birdies in an 11-hole stretch en route to the first-place showing heading into Round 2. Glover and Merritt both had strong finishes to the day, shooting 5-under and 6-under, respectively, on the back nine. Glover begins Round 2 on Hole 10 at 7:33 a.m., while Merritt follows three groups later at 8:06 a.m. Jaeger and Fisk are in the same group and will begin today on the 10th hole at 12:33 p.m.
The winner of the tournament will receive $720,000, 300 FedEx Cup points and a two-year PGA Tour exemption. Defending champion William Mouw, who’s in the same group as Glover, shot 2-under on the first day for a share of 45th place.
Hurstbourne will play as a par-70 course this week. There will be two par-5 holes, 12 par 4s and four par 3s.
