Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: TE Rivaldo Fairweather

The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.

Here is tight end Rivaldo Fairweather.

Rivaldo Fairweather background, 2025 season

Fairweather was a rookie free agent in 2025 and enters his first full season with the Cardinals. He signed originally with the Dallas Cowboys out of Auburn and spent almost the entire season on their practice squad. The Cardinals signed him to their active roster from the Cowboys’ practice squad on Dec. 30 but was inactive for the final game of the season.

Rivaldo Fairweather contract details, cap hit

He is signed through 2026 and will be an exclusive rights free agent in 2027. He is scheduled to make $885,000, the minimum salary for a player with no accrued seasons. His salary and cap hit will be the same.

Roster outlook, questions he faces

Fairweather is a player on the roster bubble. Three tight end spots feel like locks with Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins and Tip Reiman. The fourth presumed spot is up for grabs. Can he show enough to be that guy?

That fourth tight end will need to be solid on special teams and be capable as a blocker or receiver.
