Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith reacts to claim of no NIL money

Everyone knows Ohio State star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is one whale of a talent and perhaps the best player in college football (no matter what the awards say). They also know that despite no official figures being available, he likely commands a large sum in Name, Image and Likeness endorsements.
So much so that Smith went on record to claim that another school offered him $10 million to transfer from Ohio State (we all know what school that was (cough, cough – Miami). He ultimately turned that down, but you can bet he’s still getting paid on the banks of the Olentangy. In fact, his market value is reported as $5 million according to On3.
One might be awfully surprised to read a post that Smith was giving up his NIL money for the upcoming season, then, with it being life-changing money and all. That’s exactly what satire poster Shane Tuttle posted on Monday, claiming that Smith isn’t making any NIL money this year, quoting him as saying, “I want to win another National Championship. I figured that money could be used to make our team stronger in other areas.”
Smith didn’t take long to respond to that post, basically confirming it’s a bunch of bologna with a simple response.
Huh????🤣 https://t.co/nn63GlZLcJ

Listen, we’re all for a guy getting paid because of NIL, and we’re sure Smith is doing just fine and isn’t about to give any of that money up, especially knowing what he will command in the future as well. It’s funny when athletes take time out to interact with some of these satire accounts.
