Ranking the top 10 third basemen in MLB entering July

MLB heads into the 16th week of the 2026 season. The 2026 All-Star Game takes place in one week, and the All-Star teams, from each respective league, have been announced. The pool of players was arguably as good as it’s been in a long time. Many deserving players earned nods while certain players were snubbed. Here are the top ten third basemen in the league.

10. Zack Gelof, Athletics
Gelof is having a strong season for the Athletics. His adjustments have proved beneficial in 2026. The Athletics have a strong offense heading into their 2028 move to Las Vegas.
9. Manny Machado, San Diego Padres

The veteran is hitting for power but has the lowest batting average of his career. Entering the week, he is third in home runs among MLB third basemen. He continues to hit for power into the latter stages of his career.
8. Isaac Paredes, Houston Astros
If he can stay healthy, Paredes will finish with career-best numbers. Entering the week, he is sixth in home runs among MLB third basemen. He needs to keep producing if the Astros are to make the playoffs.
7. Bo Bichette, New York Mets

4. Josh Jung, Texas Rangers
The veteran is having a solid season. He has one of the best overall stat lines among MLB third basemen. He fell short of an AL All-Star selection.
3. Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers
The veteran has been one of the best power hitters in Los Angeles’ lineup. Entering the week, he is fourth in home runs among MLB third basemen. He will be the starting third baseman for the NL All-Star team.
2. Miguel Vargas, Chicago White Sox
Vargas is having a sensational season. Entering the week, he is tied for second in home runs among MLB third basemen. He will be a reserve on the AL All-Star roster.

Caminero is putting up MVP numbers. Entering the week, he leads MLB third basemen in home runs and OPS. He will start at third base for the AL All-Star team.
