A battle of American women will take center stage at Wimbledon on Tuesday, July 7, with a quarterfinal match between No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula and No. 7 Coco Gauff.
The two are very familiar with each other’s games after having been doubles partners for several years, including during the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, they’ve since split amicably to concentrate on their singles careers.
Both are looking for their first Wimbledon title. Pegula has never won a Grand Slam event, with her best finish as the runner-up to Aryna Sabalenka at the 2024 U.S. Open. Gauff, meanwhile, has won a pair of majors − the 2023 U.S. Open and 2025 French Open.
Pegula has a 5-3 advantage in head-to-head meetings with Gauff.
