Analyst believes Trojans have one of top quarterback rooms in FBS

Lincoln Riley is most known for his success in quarterback development. A great example of that is what he and Jayden Maiava have been able to accomplish. Riley improved the Trojans‘ outlook for the future by adding freshman Jonas Williams, who has an extremely high ceiling.
In a recent article, Blake Brockermeyer ranks the Trojans as the 7th-best quarterback room in college football. Here is what he had to say about the Trojans’ most important position group:
“Jayden Maiava took a real jump last year in his first season as a full-time starter. He had a fantastic season, throwing for more than 3,400 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Lincoln Riley has already proven he knows how to coach and develop quarterbacks, and Maiava gives USC a strong option at the top of the room. Behind him, Sam Huard is likely the backup — or at least the veteran option — after an interesting college career that included starting experience at Cal Poly.
The future of the room is talented freshman Jonas Williams, who has all the tools to be great. He is likely the next big thing at USC, and he gives the Trojans another high-upside piece in a room that already has proven production.”
Jayden Maiava rose to the occasion last season and put up great numbers in his first season as a starter. Lincoln Riley and the Trojans ‘ infrastructure put him in a great position for success. Freshman Jonas Williams has a higher ceiling, and when it is his turn, he can very well be the next Heisman winner under Riley. The Trojans will have good quarterback play at the bare minimum this season, and elite quarterback play for the future.
