USABS CEO contract extended through 2030 Olympic Games

LAKE PLACID — The USA Bobsled-Skeleton Board of Directors has approved a contract extension for CEO Aron McGuire, ensuring his continued leadership of the organization through the 2030 Olympic Games.
McGuire has served as CEO of USABS since 2020. Since stepping into the role, he has helped stabilize the organization financially and operationally, strengthen governance and compliance systems, expand athlete support, grow commercial partnerships, and position USABS for continued success in international competitions.
“Aron has provided steady and effective leadership during one of the most important periods in the history of USA Bobsled-Skeleton,” USABS Board of Directors Chair Randy Aliment said in a press release. “He has helped strengthen the organization’s foundation and position USABS for continued success.
“The board has confidence in Aron’s leadership, vision and commitment to our athletes as we prepare for the 2030 Olympic Games and beyond.”
USABS has continued to achieve success in high performance competitions.
Between the 2022 and 2026 Olympic Winter Games, USABS earned six medals, including gold medals in both 2022 and 2026.
Over the past four years, the team has also won seven IBSF World Championship medals and 53 IBSF World Cup medals.
During McGuire’s tenure, USABS also developed and implemented a comprehensive six-year strategic plan, creating greater alignment across athletes, coaches, staff and board leadership.
The organization has strengthened its governance and operational foundation by updating key policies and documents.
In addition, USABS implemented organizational best practices and efficiencies, as well as the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s expanded National Governing Body Compliance Standards, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accountability, athlete safety and modern nonprofit governance.
Revenue growth and organizational visibility have also expanded during McGuire’s tenure.
USABS has grown its commercial partnerships and sponsorship base, building relationships with major brands, such as Honda, Raising Cane’s, Snowflake, Procter & Gamble and others.
The organization launched an online merchandise store, expanded licensing partnerships, refreshed its brand identity and increased visibility across social media.
These efforts have helped broaden awareness of the sport while expanding mainstream visibility through high-profile campaigns involving Jason Kelce and Flavor Flav.
“I am grateful for the continued confidence and support of the USA Bobsled-Skeleton Board of Directors,” McGuire said. “It is a privilege to lead this organization and work alongside our athletes, coaches, staff, board members, sponsors, partners, donors and supporters.
“The progress we have made over the past six years is a reflection of the dedication of our coaches and staff, the commitment of our athletes, and the support of the broader USABS community.
“I have tremendous confidence in our team and believe we are well positioned to continue moving USABS forward over the next four years as we prepare for the Olympic Games and the opportunities ahead.”
