Former Bucs CB praises NFC teams' hiring of Nolan Teasley

The Minnesota Vikings‘ decision to hire Nolan Teasley as their general manager has already earned praise from around the NFL, including from former Tampa Bay Buccaneerscornerback Richard Sherman.

Speaking on the RSherman Podcast, Sherman said Teasley has earned the opportunity through years of hard work and believes the Vikings are getting someone who understands how to build a successful organization from the ground up.

“I love it. He’s a guy who works incredibly hard, a guy who cares about the players, he cares about his job, he cares about the organizations… A lot of people get the elevator, and then you get to the top, and you don’t know how to operate. But when you take the stairs, you know how to build and operate… I think he’s going to do a fantastic job for the Minnesota Vikings.”

Sherman’s comments focused less on Teasley’s résumé and more on the path he took to reach one of the NFL’s most important front-office positions. Rather than taking shortcuts, Sherman emphasized that Teasley worked his way through the profession, gaining the experience needed to lead an organization.

Minnesota is hoping Teasley can help build on the foundation already in place while keeping the Vikings among the NFC’s contenders. Although his tenure is just beginning, Sherman believes Teasley’s work ethic and approach to leadership will translate well in his new role.

Endorsements from former players don’t guarantee future success, but Sherman’s comments reflect the respect Teasley has earned throughout the league. The Vikings are betting that reputation will carry over as he begins the next chapter of his NFL career.
