How did 7-foot-1 Wisconsin commit Jack Thelen fare in 2025-26?

Since June 5, the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball program has potentially witnessed its future core come together.
Beginning with four-star shooting guard Jalen Brown, the Badgers have claimed three commitments from a talented crop of class of 2027 talents. Brown, who holds On3/Rivals’ No. 66 overall distinction and No. 15 position in the nation as a shooting guard, extended his pledge roughly three weeks before Maple Grove High School’s Baboucarr Ann decided he wanted to spend his collegiate days as a Badger.
Ann is the outlet’s No. 78-ranked player, as well as the No. 1 playmaker from the state of Minnesota, for the class of 2027. Between the pair of wings, 7-foot-1 center Jack Thelen also elected to venture to Madison following his graduation from Maple Grove High School in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
As a teammate of Ann’s with the Crimson, Thelen averaged 13.5 points, a team-high nine rebounds, and an assist per game down low. His 24 blocks also led Maple Grove during the 2025-26 season, according to StribVarsity.
Thelen follows the same blueprint as former Badger big men Steven Crowl, Tyler Wahl and Nolan Winter, who committed to Wisconsin following successful high school careers in Minnesota. 247Sports pegs him as the No. 3 player from Minnesota for the class of 2027
