Carlisle United have signed Gateshead defender Brad Nicholson for an undisclosed fee and his former Heed team-mate Kenton Richardson on a free transfer.
Both players played under Cumbrians boss Rob Elliot last season.
Nicholson, 27, who has signed a two-year deal, made 21 appearances for Gateshead last season after joining from Solihull in January.
Fellow defender Richardson, also 27, has signed a one-year contract after turning down a new deal with Lee Cattermole’s side.
