UCLA Announces Nine Bruins Inducted into Hall of Fame

UCLA named nine former Bruins who will be inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026 on Tuesday.
The nine new members include: Garrett Atkins (baseball), Kris Farris (football), Sam Mewis (women’s soccer), Andre Phillips (men’s track & field), Kelly Reeves (beach volleyball/women’s volleyball), Matt Reis (men’s soccer), Michael Sealy (men’s volleyball/women’s volleyball coach), Sam Storey (football) and Earl Watson (men’s basketball).
What Has the Class of 2026 Accomplished?
Collectively, the Class of 2026 members won eight national championships and earned 12 All-American honors while playing at UCLA. One of those national championships was won by both Reeves and Sealy, who were player and head coach of the women’s volleyball team during the 2010-2011 season.

Mewis helped UCLA women’s soccer win its first-ever NCAA title in 2013. Then, she went on to become one of just two Bruins to win a NCAA Championship, NWSL Championship and World Cup title.
Atkins is the only three-time All-American in UCLA baseball history. Farris was part of one of the strongest offensive lines in UCLA football history and became the program’s second-ever Outland Trophy winner in 1998.
Watson led UCLA men’s basketball to three Sweet 16 appearances and is still the program’s all-time steals leader. Phillips is already a member of the National Track & Field Hall of Fame. He won a national championship in 1981 and Olympic title in 1988 in the 400m hurdles.
Reis was a standout goalkeeper for UCLA men’s soccer and was named the College Cup Defensive MVP for his performance in the 1997 NCAA Tournament. Reis helped lead UCLA men’s soccer to the program’s third national championship that season.
Storey was not only a star on the football field but a trailblazer for black student-athletes in the early 1930s. He earned third-team All-Pacific Coast Conference in 1934, which at the time was considered of the same prestige as an All-American honor because racism prevented black student-athletes from receiving awards.
When Will the Class of 2026 Officially Be Inducted Into the Hall of Fame?
There will be an on-campus induction ceremony for the Class of 2026 held on Oct. 23.
Then, the nine members of the Class of 2026 will be honored during halftime of the UCLA football game against Michigan State the following day on Oct. 24 at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
