The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated outfielder Teoscar Hernández from the IL Monday, and put him directly back into the lineup for their series opener against the Athletics.

Hernandez has spent just over a month on the injured list following a grade 1 hamstring strain against the Colorado Rockies towards the end of May.

The Dodgers are heading to Sacramento to finish a nine-game road trip, and are fresh off of a series win against the San Diego Padres. They claimed the final two games of the series with a blowout win on Saturday and a strong performance on Sunday.

Who is Starting for the Dodgers?

Eric Lauer is taking the mound for the Dodgers, and will look to continue his success since joining LA. He has a 2.54 ERA with the Dodgers through five appearances, and is yet to receive a losing decision since joining the team.

Lauer already faced the A’s this season, though as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. He threw 5.1 innings in that outing, allowing just two earned runs and striking out nine batters on his way to a win.

Who is in the Dodgers’ Lineup?

The Dodgers leave the top of the lineup unchanged heading into a new series, keeping Shohei Ohtani at the top of the lineup followed by center fielder Andy Pages, first baseman Freddie Freeman and shortstop Mookie Betts.

Hernandez steps back into the lineup in the No. 5 spot and will play left field, followed by right fielder Kyle Tucker, who has a great record against the A’s in his career. Former Athletic Max Muncy will play third base and bat seventh, followed by second baseman Miguel Rojas. Catcher Dalton Rushing rounds out the lineup.

Rookie left-hander Gage Jump will take the mound for the Athletics in the series opener. While he only has six MLB starts under his belt, Jump has been fantastic for the A’s through his first month or so in the majors. He has a 2.04 ERA this season, as well as 35 strikeouts in 35.1 innings pitched.

The Dodgers will look to take control of the game early against the young left-hander and continue their recent hot streak.
