Kentucky makes the top ten for a five-star 2027 offensive lineman

Coach Will Stein has done a terrific job in his first few months heading the Kentucky Wildcats football program. He has built a solid coaching staff and built a talented roster using the transfer portal. He has also put together a top 25 2027 recruiting class despite a limited time on the job. Now, he is working to land one of the best offensive linemen in the class.
Ismael Camara is a 6’6″, 340 lb offensive tackle out of Texas. He’s rated five stars by 247Sports and ranks as their No. 14 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 2 tackle. Texas has been an area that Stein has targeted heavily, and he’s hoping to get one more addition from there.
Camara has cut his list down to ten schools, and Kentucky made the cut, but they’ll be battling the top programs in the country for his services. Home state schools like Texas A&M, SMU, and the Texas Longhorns are in contention, as are Ohio State, the Oregon Ducks, LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, and Auburn Tigers.
If the Wildcats were to land Camara, he would be huge for Stein. The Longhorns are the favorite, but the fact that Kentucky is still in contention is a testament to how good a job the new coaching staff is doing. A decision date hasn’t been announced yet, but he has taken an unofficial visit to Lexington. We’ll continue to follow his recruitment, and provide updates as they’re available.
