Stephen Eustáquio goal sends Canada to round of 16

Talk about drama. Canada and South Africa met in a knockout round match on Sunday at Los Angeles Stadium.

The countries were scoreless through regulation and went into stoppage time in the second half. Stephen Eustáquio scored a goal at 91:03 and sent Canada into the round of 16.

The Canadians are one of the three host countries along with Mexico and the United States in the 2026 World Cup.

Next up is the winner of the Netherlands-Morocco match, which will take place on Monday. Canada’s next match takes place on the Fourth of July in Houston.
