Ortiz and House power Red Wings to win over Knights

The Rochester Red Wings defeated the Charlotte Knights 6-2 at Truist Field, powered by three-hit performances from Abimelec Ortiz and Brady House and a two-run shot from Andrew Pinckney.
The Red Wings used a six-man pitching approach, limiting the Knights to single runs in the fifth and eighth innings.
The game was scoreless through three innings before Rochester broke through in the fourth. House singled to right. Two batters later, Pinckney hit his 11th home run of the season to right-center off Noah Schultz, giving the Red Wings a 2-0 lead. Schultz finished with seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
Rochester doubled its lead in the fifth, again with two outs. Seaver King walked, Ortiz doubled to left to bring him home and House followed with a double to score Ortiz, making it 4-0.
Charlotte scored its first run in the bottom of the fifth when Korey Lee doubled and scored on Nolan Jones’ double. Andre Granillo limited the damage to that single run, stranding Jones with two flyouts and a strikeout.
The Red Wings added two more runs in the seventh against Lucas Sims and Adisyn Coffey. Phillip Glasser walked and stole second, Christian Franklin walked, King forced Franklin at second and then stole second himself, and Ortiz singled to right to score both runners, stretching the lead to 6-1.
Charlotte’s last serious threat came in the eighth when Dustin Harris and Ryan Galanie walked, Michael Turner struck out and Lee singled to center to load the bases. Jones delivered a sacrifice fly to left to bring in Harris, but Jack Sinclair induced a flyout to end the inning and keep the Red Wings comfortably in front.
