Manchester United are reportedly back in the hunt for West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes. It had appeared that Tottenham Hotspur were going to pip Man United to the services of the Portuguese, but things could change. The Red Devils have reached out to Fernandes and his representatives in recent hours and are now willing to improve the personal terms they initially offered.
Man United also plan to hold direct talks with West Ham, and while Spurs remain in the race, the Red Devils are willing to pull out all stops to get their man.
It is an interesting development and the injury to Manuel Ugarte could have forced the Red Devils into changing their mind on Fernandes.
