Mourinho: “I must find a way to avoid the problems Real Madrid had in previous seasons”
Real Madrid coach José Mourinho talked to Adebayo Akinfenwa in his Beast Mode On Podcast and shared some thoughts about his return to the club and what his goals will be this upcoming season.
“I’ve read some things saying that Jose is coming here and he’s going to cut some of the best players who supposedly had problems during the season. No, no, I want these players, I want these players, I want the best. Now I have to find a way to have a team and not have the problems that, I don’t know, from what I’ve read, they had in previous seasons,” said the Portuguese coach.
That dismisses the notion of Real Madrid potentially selling some players who were involved in controversies throughout the 2025-26 season.
Mourinho also said that he’s hoping that most of his players don’t get too busy during the World Cup.
“You want the truth? I want the Real Madrid players to lose and go on vacation. Because I want them back for pre-season,” he said jokingly.
