Former Notre Dame star has been called up to MLB to make debut

Former Notre Dame star infielder and pitcher Jack Brannigan had a great three year run in South Bend which included a trip to the College World Series before getting picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates in round No. 3 of the 2022 MLB draft.

While there was chatter that he could try and play both ways as a professional, Brannigan eventually settled on the position player side and now that move has officially paid off. It was announced that he is getting called up to the Major Leagues on Thursday. This will be a special moment for Brannigan as this will be his debut whenever he gets to play.

He is not currently scheduled to start, but could see some action off the bench. After hitting 11 home runs and driving in 21 this season, the promotion is well earned from Brannigan and we hope to see his first MLB hit come soon.
