Timpf revealed that he has been battling a virus and myocarditis, and he was bedridden for six days around the NBA Finals. “I got just an absolutely gnarly viral illness. Like, the worst viral illness I’ve ever had in my life. It was absolutely brutal,” Timpf said. “During that process, I ended up getting a condition called myocarditis, which is essentially inflammation of the heart muscle. It’s caused, like, some palpitations and other crap that I have been dealing with. “It’s made it so I can’t play basketball. I barely touched a basketball in the last three weeks, which has been, as you can imagine for a guy like me, absolutely brutal. But I ended up having a kind of… a situation where I had to go to the hospital several times.”
