Florida baseball falls in final Baseball Coaches Poll of 2026

The 2026 college baseball season is officially over after the Oklahoma Sooners prevailed over the North Carolina Tar Heels in the College World Series championship, two games to one, to earn their third-ever national title and first since 1994.
With those results now officially in the books, the last USA TODAY Sports Baseball Coaches Poll was released with the final standings for the 2026 campaign. In it, the Florida Gators find themselves ranked No. 19 after falling short in the Gainesville Regional. They finished with a 41-21 overall record and an 18-12 mark in SEC play.
Kevin O’Sullivan and Co. entered the regionals as the No. 8 seed after being knocked out of the SEC Tournament by the Georgia Bulldogs in the semifinals. That allowed them to host the regional round in Gainesville, where they snuck by the Rider Broncs and shelled the Miami Hurricanes before being knocked out of the postseason with two straight blowout losses at the hands of the Troy Trojans.
Troy finished at No. 8 in the rankings after making it to the College World Series by beating the Little Rock Trojans in the super regional, while Miami ended up with just six votes on the final ballot. Florida’s biggest in-state rivals, the Florida State Seminoles, finished just ahead of the Gators at No. 18.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 13), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 16), Florida (No. 19) and Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 21) round out the conference programs that finished in the top 25. The Kentucky Wildcats (10) and Tennessee Volunteers (8) were the remaining schools to earn votes on the final ballot.
