Sam Burns makes huge jump in new Official World Golf Ranking

The Official World Golf Ranking has been updated for the week of June 23, 2026, with Scottie Scheffler still atop the list of the planet’s best players.

Sam Burns made the biggest jump near the top this week, as he climbed 15 spots from No. 30 to No. 15, all on the heels of a strong showing at the U.S. Open. LIV Golf’s Tyrrell Hatton climbed one spot into the top 20 (at No. 20) while Michael Kim (now No. 51) and Adam Scott (now No. 52) both fell out of the top 50.

The OWGR system is calculated by awarding points from eligible tours and events to participating players over a rolling two-year period. Players are ranked weekly based on the amount of points they earn divided by the number of events they played in to reach an average total. Points hold their full value for a 13-week period and are then reduced in equal decrements. The current ranking for the Top 50 golfers in the world appears below.
