Jaden Henley NBA draft projections predict end to Grand Canyon drought

Grand Canyon University has not had a player taken in the NBA draft since 1988.
According to some 2026 NBA Draft projections, that drought could end on Wednesday, June 24.
Those projections have Grand Canyon’s Jaden Henley going in the second round of the draft that day.
Henley, a guard, averaged 17.7 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game with the Antelopes in his lone season with the team.
Check out what recent NBA mock drafts are saying about his draft stock.
Yahoo Sports: Jaden Henley picked by Golden State Warriors at No. 54 overall
Kevin O’Connor writes: “Henley is an explosive wing who can dunk over opponents while also switching across positions on defense. But he severely struggles as a shooter, and since he isn’t a primary creator it’s vital he figures out how to make shots fall with greater regularity.”
Sports Illustrated: Jaden Henley selected by Toronto Raptors at No. 50 overall
Kevin Sweeney writes: “One of the most well-traveled players in this draft, Henley played at four different schools in four seasons but finally put it all together as a senior at Grand Canyon. He’s highly effective going downhill, shooting nearly 65% at the rim this past season for the Antelopes. The key swing skill going forward will be his three-point shooting. He made just 27% from deep this past season and shot 31% for his college career.”
Bleacher Report: Jaden Henley taken by Houston Rockets at No. 53 overall
Jonathan Wasserman writes: “Jaden Henley had a breakout year with his fourth school in four years. He’s a big wing and tough downhill scorer with shotmaking ability, though three-point shooting remains an obvious swing skill.”
The Athletic: Jaden Henley goes to Atlanta Hawks at No. 57 overall
The site has the Grand Canyon wing going between Kentucky’s Otega Oweh and Houston’s Milos Uzan.
