Watch Texas A&M transfer pitcher throw heat during his summer training

Texas A&M coach Michael Earely enters his third season at the helm after leading the Aggies back to the NCAA Tournament after missing the most seasons in 2025, but couldn’t get past the USC Trojans in the College Station Regional, and entered the offseason with plenty of moves to be made, including firing pitching coach Jason Kelley.

After Kelley’s dismissal, Earley’s search for his replacement was swift and decisive, targeting MLB pitching coach/coordinator Barry Enright, whose development background was too hard to pass up on, knowing that former pitching coach Max Weiner, who currently serves in the same role with the Texas Longhorns, came from a similar MLB background and is one of the top assistants in the country.

After bringing back ace recruiter and associate head coach Nolan Cain, who served in the same role at Texas over the past two seasons, Michael Earley has built an elite coaching staff that has already helped land several top players, including five pitchers from the transfer portal.

One of those pitchers, former UNLV right‑hander Jase Evangelista, is currently working out at Tread Athletics in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the top private training facilities that has produced and continues to work with a long list of MLB players, and will look to do the same with the new Aggie pitcher.

In a video provided by Tread Athletics, Evangelista is reportedly hitting news pitching strides, throwing “94-96, even recently touching 97 mph” during his time with the organization this summer, and has been working with Tread since 2023. Texas A&M‘s 2027 pitching staff is all but complete, barring several announcements, and with Evangelista in the fold, expectations on the mound have steadily risen.
