Where former Gator Xaivian Lee ranks among 2026 NBA Draft prospects

With less than three days remaining until the 2026 NBA Draft, front offices around the league are putting the final touches on their draft boards as they evaluate the next wave of talent set to enter their professional careers. For some franchises, the draft presents an opportunity to add an immediate contributor, while others will look to acquire future assets and continue building for the long term.
As the anticipation builds, analysts and scouts continue to release updated evaluations of prospects in this year’s class. One of the latest came from The Athletic, which organized the draft’s top 75 prospects into 12 distinct tiers based on projected NBA value and long-term potential. Among the players featured in the rankings was former Florida Gators guard Xaivian Lee.
Lee came in ranked 70 out of 75 and was placed in the very last tier labeled “summer league”. Placing him in that category essentially means he will most likely not be drafted in either round of the NBA draft and will not have a guaranteed NBA roster spot immediately. Lee will also be expected to use the NBA Summer League as a proving ground to earn a two-way contract, an Exhibit 10 deal, a training camp invite or a roster spot if he performs well.
Lee has many flaws in his game that concern scouts and teams looking for a point guard. Last season with the Gators, he shot 29.2% from 3-point range on relatively high volume — 11.3 per 100 possessions. Lee also underwhelmed in the measurements category, measuring six feet two inches at the combine after being listed at six feet four inches by Florida basketball.
Lee also soured many scouts with poor performances throughout his lone season with the Gators. Merrimack, Miami, Florida State, Texas Christian and Duke were some of his worst efforts of the season, shooting a combined 5-for-41 from the field.
Following Lee’s performance this past season, he will ultimately go undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft; however, Lee will have another opportunity to prove his worth against his peers in July’s summer league.
