Clemson will host 2027 ACC Softball Tournament

Clemson will host the 2027 ACC Softball Tournament for the first time, the conference announced June 18.

The tournament will be from May 12-15 at McWhorter Stadium.

Last year, the Tigers won their first ACC tournament, which was hosted by Boston College. Florida State leads all teams with 20 tournament championships, including one last month.

Georgia Tech has the second most with five. Duke, NC State and Virginia Tech all have two each, and Clemson is tied with Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia with one.

This year’s tournament was hosted by University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and the Tigers lost 4-2 to North Carolina on May 6 in the opening round of the tournament.

They still earned a spot in the NCAA tournament, and played in the Athens Regional but their season ended with a 5-0 loss to Georgia on May 17.

Clemson went 34-22 overall and 13-11 in ACC play this season.

The Tigers’ inaugural season was in 2020 but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was cut short. The 2027 season will mark the seventh full season of Clemson softball.

In the same announcement, the ACC revealed the other spring sport tournament host sites. Baseball will be at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in North Carolina, men’s and women’s lacrosse will be at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, men’s and women’s outdoor track will be at Florida State University in Tallahassee, men’s golf at Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas, and women’s golf at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
