The New York Yankees have to feel like the American League is theirs for the taking. Right now, the Yankees haven’t even played that well and are 43-27, and looking around the American League, there hasn’t been a slew of teams that are too impressive.

In fact, I’d still go as far as to say that the one team I’d be most worried about as a Yankees fan is the Toronto Blue Jays. At the same time, the Blue Jays are 34-38 and 10 games back in the American League East.

Outside of that, we see some similar teams to those we’ve seen in the past, with the Cleveland Guardians tied for first place in the American League Central and the Seattle Mariners 0.5 games ahead of the Athletics in the American League West. However, there’s no Houston Astros, no Detroit Tigers with Tarik Skubal that I’m worried about, and no Boston Red Sox.

To put things lightly, this is really the year for Brian Cashman to go all out, and according to the recent report from Robert Murray, there’s an expectation that Cashman is going to go all out this season.

“I expect them to be plenty active,” Murray added. “This is a season where, if I’m Brian Cashman, I try to be aggressive on the market because, if you look at the American League, obviously the Guardians have been good, and the White Sox have been good.

“They’ve been good, the Rays have been good, but besides that, that’s a very winnable American League. If I’m Cashman, this is the year I’m going all out.”

Right now, it just makes far too much sense for the Yankees to be active, so unless Brian Cashman doesn’t believe his team has a chance to win, which they seemingly do, I’d be shocked not to see some major changes coming.
