Shortstop Steele Hall, an 18-year-old ranked second among Cincinnati Reds‘ prospects by MLB Pipeline, has been heating up in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League, with home runs in back-to-back games.
Reds.TV’s John Sadak and Barry Larkin talked about Hall, who was the ninth overall pick in the 2025 MLB draft, during the sixth inning of the Reds’ game June 16 against the New York Mets at Great American Ball Park.
“Great hands. Super, super fast feet,” Larkin said during the broadcast. “Certainly not a power guy (but) swinging the bat well right now.”
“Do you think he stays at shortstop?” Sadak asked Larkin. “It’s so early (in his career).”
“It is quite early,” Larkin replied. “I’ve seen him (projected) both at short and second base. I like him at both. He has some great movement, great flow, great feel for what he’s doing. But it is a little early to say.”
