Ferran Torres says Spain won’t ‘fall apart’ after shock Cape Verde draw at World Cup 2026

Ferran Torres sent out a pretty defiant message after Spain’s shock 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in their World Cup 2026 opener on Monday.
La Roja had to settle for a point against the World Cup debutants after producing an uninspired showing.
Ferran had chances to score in the game but couldn’t find the back of the net. He’s now taken to social media to insist the team won’t “fall apart” after a disappointing result.
“If anyone thinks we’re going to fall apart, they’re wrong. It wasn’t our best day, but we’ll pull through. Full confidence in @sefutbol,” he posted on Instagram.
Spain now have several days to try and put things right ahead of their second group game against Saudi Arabia on Sunday in Atlanta.
Luis de la Fuente was able to use Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams as second-half substitutes against Cape Verde and the duo may be handed more game time next time out.
