“I absolutely agree" – Nagelsmann sides with Matthaüs in Musiala debate with Klopp and Müller

Julian Nagelsmann has sided with Lothar Matthaüs in the latter’s ongoing back and forth with Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Müller, who feel Undav should start over Musiala against Curaçao.
After revealing that both Manuel Neuer and Nathaniel Brown will start Germany’s opening game, the head coach explained that Musiala requires minutes to gain momentum.
“Jamal is ready for the starting eleven. He still has a few steps to take – but he can only take them if we let him play and give him game time,” he said at his press conference.
“He [Musiala] simply hasn’t had that rhythm for a long time, but thankfully he’s been playing more with us recently. We have complete faith in him.
“I absolutely agree with Lothar [Matthaüs] on that. We have to give him playing time, and he’ll get that [against Curaçao],” Nagelsmann concluded.
In the debate, Klopp was forced to clarify on Magenta TV that his words were lost in translation – he didn’t want Musiala out of the team, rather his minutes need to be managed.
