UFC Freedom 250 tipped to break one billion viewers as Marco Rubio backs Dana White’s prediction

Marco Rubio has completely shattered Dana White’s expectations for this weekend’s event.
The UFC has poured a huge amount of money into Freedom 250, aiming to turn it into a one-off showcase that stands out from anything else in the sport.
Scheduled for June 14, the event is likely to draw in viewers who don’t normally follow MMA, and White believes it could even rival Super Bowl numbers.
Some people think that prediction is over the top, but the Secretary of State doesn’t seem to agree.
With the event just around the corner, Dana White isn’t worried about the weather affecting UFC Freedom 250’s plans.
Marco Rubio claims that a billion people will watch UFC Freedom 250
Back on June 11, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the UFC president put pen to paper on a memorandum of understanding, formalising a partnership between the promotion and the U.S. government.
“A billion people all over the world will be watching America celebrate its 250th birthday with the White House in the background and some of the best athletes in the world in that octagon,” he said.
This February’s Super Bowl, won by the Seattle Seahawks, had an average audience exceeding 125 million viewers.
According to The Daily Beast, Paramount+, which is streaming UFC Freedom 250, has fewer than 80 million subscribers at present.
Though international broadcasts will boost overall viewership numbers for what’s set to be a historic event, reaching Super Bowl figures would still require an extraordinary leap from current projections.
