8 from UH swimming, diving make grade

Hawaii placed eight student-athletes on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America’s Individual Scholar All-America teams.
Rainbow Wahine diver Lovisa Gustavsson (economics) and sprinter Holly Nelson (psychology) made the first team.
Keira Chandler (psychology), Avery Coates (microbiology), Macie Wheeler (interdisciplinary studies), Carlotta Ingernerf (business) and Ruby Pickron (special education) were the Rainbow Wahine named to the second team.
UH diver Oliver Wignall (physics) made the men’s second team.
To qualify for the first team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-team selections must also have earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met an NIC “A” time standard in Division I, an NCAA “B” qualifying standard for the national championship, or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet for Division II, Division III and NAIA.
